It’s interesting for me to put together colours that I wouldn’t normally- in this case red and blue – as a base for the picture and then see how I can reconcile them. Some lairy colours can really liven things up.
I would like to find more soft but not pale colours in the tissue paper range; I need them to blend the stronger colours and I’m getting tired of the purples I’ve been using. Fawn brown and leaf green and maybe a mid-grey would be good. And mustard yellow.
but when I’m feeling dispirited, I go over to the supermarket at lunchtime and buy a packet of peanut butter m&ms. And then I sit at my desk and eat them. All of them. No sharing. And screw the healthy lunch. Today I was considering buying two.
So here’s yesterday’s drawing:
which I would love to try and colour, but I’ll have to wait until I have the time.
It’s purple fountain grass, which is so lovely, but you must have it with green around it in the garden. All alone, especially against a grey brick wall, as I saw it the other day, it looks positively brutal.
Yeah, that’s really scraping it in. Actually, I drew this just after midnight, so technically I missed a day. But I am choosing to define my day as from when I wake up until when I go to sleep. So I made it. Any arguments to the contrary must be submitted in writing by close of business today. Oops too late, you missed it.
